About the role
Our Driver role is the gas that makes Ultimate Recycling run. Our business model at its core is logistics which in turn leads to Trust being our main focus, you are the backbone of this system and make sure that Trust is always associated with our company. You will inspect, respect, and verify every customer and their material to insure our buyers can have faith in our system. At Ultimate you are a driver and will always be treated as such, we go through the effort of insuring that all of our sellers material is containerized so that you don't have to do the heavy lifting. In the event a user is unprofessional in their readiness for pick-up and you end up having to do more than what our service offers we will issue penalties and charge a handling fee, from which you will receive the total for your willingness to provide a good experience and flexibility. If and when you entice a seller to sell more while present at pick-up this will lead to commissions, promotion opportunity, and more. This role will provide you consistency, predictability, and stability as you help us change the way the world recycles.
What you'll do
- Accept assigned routes and run the stops in dispatched order
- Complete each stop in the driver app: arrive, weigh, photograph, capture skid weights, and collect signatures on the bill of lading
- Photograph loads and any damage at pickup and delivery
- Obtain a signature from the seller at pickup and from the receiving yard at delivery
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report defects
- Load and unload material at the stop — this is not a drive-only seat
- Communicate delays, refusals, and short loads to dispatch as they happen
- Secure loads properly for transport
- Clock in and out of your own shifts
What you need
- Valid driver's license with a clean recent driving record — no CDL needed
- 21 or older (insurance requirement for the company vehicle)
- Comfortable driving a box truck or straight truck in city traffic
- Comfortable using a smartphone for every stop — photos, weights, and signatures are captured in the app, not on paper
- Able to lift 50 lbs and handle material at the stop
- DOT medical certification, or willing to obtain one — required for commercial vehicles over 10,001 lbs GVWR even without a CDL
