About the role

Build the day. You decide which loads go on which truck, in what order, and with which driver — then watch it hold together as the day moves. You work a live route builder with a map, real trailer capacity, and every unassigned pickup in front of you, and you are the person drivers call when a stop goes sideways.

What you'll do

• —Build daily routes from the unassigned pickup and delivery pool
• —Assign drivers and equipment against real trailer capacity and payload limits
• —Reassign, re-sequence, or revoke a dispatched route when the day changes
• —Monitor driver progress through each stop and intervene when a load stalls
• —Override capacity and radius warnings when the call is right, knowing the override is recorded
• —Coordinate with yard staff so loads are staged before the truck arrives
• —Build and publish the weekly driver schedule
• —Handle inbound seller and buyer calls about pickup timing
• —Escalate refusals, damage, and short loads to the warehouse manager

What you need

• —2+ years in dispatch, transportation, or logistics coordination
• —Able to hold several moving jobs in your head at once and re-plan under pressure
• —Strong phone and radio communication
• —Comfortable with mapping and routing software
• —Working knowledge of DOT hours-of-service rules
• —Scrap, waste, or aggregate hauling experience is a plus
